About BECIL

Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL), an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 20000:2012 certified Mini Ratna, Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, was established on 24th March 1995. BECIL provides project consultancy services and turnkey solutions encompassing the entire gamut of radio and television broadcast engineering, viz; content production facilities, terrestrial transmission facilities, satellite and cable broadcasting facilities in India and abroad. It also provides associated services like building design and construction related to broadcasting, human resource related activities like training and providing manpower. BECIL also undertakes the supply of specialized communication, monitoring, security and surveillance systems to defence, police and para-military departments. BECIL has its head office in Delhi and corporate office in Noida. The regional office is in Bengaluru.

About BHK Project

Bharat Heera Kendra (BHK) is empowering rural India through education, healthcare, commerce and entertainment. Our objective is to bring modern conveniences that are today considered essential to individuals in rural regions, all in a single setting and conveniently close to their homes. For rural residents, our kendras will also foster entrepreneurial prospects that will generate direct & indirect employment.

Creating infrastructure,unlocking rural potential

Bharat HEERA Kendra (BHK), a PMC Project by BECIL, is an initiative to address this need along with providing some critical services to the population living in under-screened and under-served regions of India. Each BHK will provide spaces for Health, Education, Entertainment and Retail Activities. Each BHK will have a healthcare centre named Bharat Ayushmaan Kendra, a smart classroom named Bharat Smart Class, and two cinema screens with a total of 189 seats, one with 125 seats and the second screen with 64 seats under the brand Bharat Cineplex powered by NOVA Experience. Each Bharat HEERA Kendra will also have a Retail Area, Cafeteria, Utility Services like Financial & Assisted eCommerce and an Outdoor Area for Activation.

Bharat Heera Kendra is a nation-building project being created in association with Village Level Entrepreneurs/Investors under PPP investment mode. BHK through each Kendra will generate 45+ jobs. A substantial percentage of BHK’s energy needs will be satisfied by solar panels. Additionally, rainwater harvesting will also be implemented, and each centre will feature Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, making BHK an ecologically friendly project. Importantly, BHK will bring Digital, Financial and Social inclusion to the local population and bring India at par with the world in this important economic matric. Finally, this will benefit India’s rural and semi-urban economy by generating additional revenue while providing Health, Education, Entertainment, Retail services.

Mahesh Murthy

Mr. Mahesh Murthy is a multifaceted professional who has excelled in various roles within the business world. As a marketer, he has an impressive portfolio, having worked with renowned companies like Amazon, Yahoo, Pepsi, Nike, Microsoft & Unilever across multiple countries.

He played a significant role in launching MTV in India and subsequently led its rival Channel V. Furthermore, he founded the successful marketing and ad firm, Pinstorm, receiving numerous advertising & marketing awards for his creative campaigns. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Murthy currently leads a couple of firms that utilize space technology in groundbreaking ways, including one that became the first Indian private company in space. In the realm of investments, he has an impressive track record as well.

Vinod Sethi

Mr. Vinod Sethi held various important roles during his career. He was the Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. until February 2001, where he also served as the Chief Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager for a remarkable 12-year period.

Since January 30, 2006, he has been an esteemed Non-Executive & Independent Director of UPL Limited. Additionally, starting from the same date, he served as an Additional Director of Uniphos Enterprises Ltd. Mr. Sethi completed his education with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a B.Tech from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai. Furthermore, he holds an MBA in Finance from the renowned Stern School of Business at New York University.

Vishnu Patel

Associated with UFO Moviez since 2006, Mr. Vishnu Patel is currently serving as the Group CEO – Special Projects. With an impressive career in the Media & Entertainment Industry spanning 30+ years, Mr. Patel brings extensive and diverse experience to his role.

He obtained a Diploma in Architecture from the Centre of Environmental Planning & Technology (CEPT) in Ahmedabad and pursued a Master’s degree in Science in Broadcasting from Boston University in the US. Mr. Patel plays a vital role at UFO Moviez, overseeing crucial aspects such as Business Strategy, Planning, Budgeting & Transitioning for new business projects, including NOVA CINEMAS and IMPACT. Moreover, he was entrusted with driving the business development and successful implementation of UFO Moviez International operations.

Ankur Sheth

Co-Founder and CEO of Moviebeam, Ankur Sheth is responsible for the overall vision of the Company and defines its strategic direction. Mr. Sheth takes care of identifying & creating partnership opportunities and works closely with the sales team on business development.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Sheth was the Founder and CEO of DG2L Technologies. DG2L was a global leader in providing H.264-based next-generation media solutions for Digital Cinema & Digital TV and pioneered the Set-Top Box market to offer a Hybrid H.264-based DVB/IP HD Set-Top Box. DG2L’s Digital Cinema business was merged with UFO Moviez, and the STB division was merged with Valuable Group. The Valuable Group is a diversified conglomerate focused on Media, Technology and Infrastructure. Mr. Sheth was also the CEO & President of iSystem Group of Companies and Founder of Channel2C Technologies Ltd., a content aggregation & streaming company. Mr. Sheth holds a degree in Industrial Management and Management Information Systems from the University of Akron.

Nilesh Kulkarni

Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni is a former Indian Test Cricketer who wrote himself into cricketing history by taking a wicket with the very first ball that he bowled in Test cricket, becoming the first Indian bowler, and the fifteenth bowler overall, to do so.

Post his cricketing career, Mr. Kulkarni established the International Institute of Sports and Management, the first Sports Management institute in India. For 13 years now, he has been transforming his on-field experience into carving a niche for Sports Industry aspirants. Ananth Mahadevan

Mr. Ananth Mahadevan is a Producer, Director, Writer, Editor, Actor, and Author in Indian films, television and the media. He is an Indian National Award Winning Film Director for “MEE SINDHUTAI SAPKAL” [2010] and has also made acclaimed films like GOUR HARI DASTAAN: THE FREEDOM FILE, ROUGH BOOK, DOCTOR RAKHMABAI, all official selections at several international film festivals.

MAI GHAT: CRIME NO 103/2005 has been the Indian Broadcasting Ministry’s selection from India for the Marche Du Film section of the Cannes Film Festival [2020]. The film has won several awards at international festivals in New York, Singapore and India. His film BITTERSWEET was an official selection at the Busan International Film Festival in 2020 and was nominated for the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award. The film has hence been an official selection at 11 International Film Festivals. The Maharashtra Government nominated it as the Indian entry for the Marche Du Film Section of the Cannes International Film Festival in 2021. His latest film IT’S TIME TO GO deals with the untouched subject of active euthanasia. It features veteran actors Dilip Prabhavalkar [Best Actor, Pune Int Film Festival 2022] and Rohini Hattangady [Kasturba in Gandhi by Richard Attenborough]. His first book ONCE UPON A PRIME TIME got rave reviews and awards. It is about his 40 years in Indian television. His new film THE STORYTELLER based on an original story by the auteur Satyajit Ray has been gathering accolades at Busan, Palm Prints, Houston and London. The film stars Paresh Rawal, Adil Husain and Revathy.

Rajesh Aggarwal

Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal is a Chartered Accountant with expertise in Banking & Finance, also a business leader with over 27 years of experience across Accounts, Finance, Tax, M&A, Treasury, Portfolio Management, Business Strategy, Capital Market, Compliance & Risk Management.
